Good news! I was able to re-refinance my loan with my current student loan company to get a lower rate. Everything went through as of yesterday and I am now the proud owner of a shiny new student loan. [-$60,324] Overwhelmed and Out of Gas, but Optimistic

I’m feeling like I’m being dragged across the finish line of 2017. I just feel tired.

(I have fallen off on taking all of my supplements regularly, so I’ll need to get back on track with that. That is probably playing a role in things.)

Among other things, I have a close family member in the hospital now. After tests, it was determined that the condition is potentially life threatening, but treatable with surgical intervention, so things will likely be ok, eventually. [-$63,299] Falling Off the Track

I’ve made my required monthly $1,720 student loan payment and now owe $63,299. The balance looks practically unchanged to me compared to before the payment. Sigh.

However, when I get my next paycheck in a couple of weeks, very little of it will go toward debt at all instead of my target of $1000 extra. Why?
